Key Features

  • Armless on both sides, connecting two pieces in a straight 180-degree run without interrupting the seat line
  • Each unit adds one seat, so a run can be extended as the space allows
  • Deep-seating geometry built for lounging rather than upright dining posture
  • Cushion covers unzip for washing
  • Nine cushion colorways shared across the whole Luxe program for mix-and-match
  • Raised open-frame base keeps the underside clear of standing water on decks and pool surrounds

Armless Sectional Piece for Custom Outdoor Lounge Layouts

The Luxe Center Modular is the connector piece in Anderson Teak's Luxe program — an armless single seat that drops between two other modules in a straight 180-degree run. Order one to stretch a loveseat into a sofa, or several to run seating the full length of a deck or pool coping.

With no arms on either side it sits flush against whatever you put beside it, so the seat line stays unbroken across the whole arrangement. Most buyers order it alongside corner units and end pieces, then settle the final shape once the furniture is on site.

Extending a Seating Run

Most sectional layouts hit the same ceiling: the corner units and end pieces are fixed, so the run is whatever length the manufacturer decided it should be. The center module removes that ceiling. Drop one in and a two-piece corner becomes a three-seat run; drop in three and the seating follows the full edge of a pool deck. Clubs and hotels use them the same way, adding units as a terrace fills out rather than replacing the whole group.

Joinery That Carries Load

Every load-bearing connection on this piece is cut as a mortise-and-tenon joint and pinned with a dowel rather than screwed or bracketed. The difference shows over years of outdoor service: glued and pinned joinery moves with seasonal swelling instead of working loose around a fastener, and there is no metal fitting buried in the frame to corrode and split what surrounds it. Stock is kiln-dried before cutting, so the joints are sized to timber that has already done its moving.

Planning the Layout Around Corners

Start from the corners. A corner unit turns the run 90 degrees and an end piece closes it off; everything in between is center modules. An L-shape along two edges of a deck usually wants one corner, two ends, and two to four centers depending on the length of the longer leg. Leave a clear walking gap between the seat fronts and a coffee table so guests can pass without turning sideways, and plan the arrangement around the fixed pieces first.

Two Decades of Joinery

Anderson Teak has built outdoor furniture at its Central Java, Indonesia facility since 2002, drawing teak from legal Indonesian plantations managed by Perum Perhutani, the government forestry agency behind the country's SVLK timber-legality verification system. The Luxe Center Modular carries Anderson Teak's 2-year residential and 1-year commercial limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Anderson Teak Luxe Center Modular measures 30 inches wide, 32 inches deep, and 32 inches tall. The frame seat sits 11 inches off the ground and 17 inches with the 6-inch cushion in place. Usable seat depth is 26.5 inches across a 30-inch seat width. The piece weighs 33 pounds and ships in a single 36.5 by 35 by 9.75 inch carton.

  • The Anderson Teak Luxe Center Modular is armless on both sides and joins two pieces in a straight 180-degree line, adding one seat to the run. The Luxe Corner Modular turns the layout 90 degrees where an L or U shape changes direction. A typical L-shaped arrangement uses one corner piece with two or more center modules filling the straight sections between the ends.

  • Each Anderson Teak Luxe Center Modular adds 30 inches of seating width and seats one person. Measure the straight run you want to fill, subtract the width of the corner and end pieces at each end, then divide what remains by 30. Most residential decks take two to four center modules; hospitality terraces often run six or more along a single edge.

  • Yes. The Anderson Teak Luxe Center Modular is built for permanent outdoor placement. A-Grade teak is naturally resistant to rot, mildew, and insects, and the unfinished surface weathers to a silver-gray patina over several seasons with no loss of strength. Marine-grade brass and stainless steel hardware resists corrosion through freeze-thaw cycles and coastal salt air. Store cushions dry during long periods of disuse.

  • The Anderson Teak Luxe Center Modular is hand-crafted at Anderson Teak's facility in Central Java, Indonesia, where the company has produced outdoor teak furniture since 2002. The teak comes from legal Indonesian plantations managed by Perum Perhutani, the government forestry agency overseeing SVLK-certified sustainable teak forestry and chain-of-custody traceability from forest to finished piece.
