Counter-Height Glider for Bar-Style Patio Tables

The LuxCraft 2' Classic Balcony Glider brings the timeless elegance of the classic high-back design to a counter-height format, delivering an elevated gliding experience that is as practical as it is comfortable. Sitting approximately 6 inches higher than a standard glider and featuring an integrated footrest that moves in perfect synchronization with the gliding motion, this counter-height single-seat glider makes sitting down and standing up effortless while providing continuous foot and leg support throughout every glide. The classic high-back slatted design with clean, upright lines offers a versatile aesthetic that works beautifully on raised decks, balconies, farmhouse porches, and formal patios alike. Amish-made in Ohio from recycled high-density polyethylene — LuxCraft's hallmark of quality craftsmanship, it requires no maintenance and is built to last a lifetime outdoors in any climate.

Upright Seating at Height

The 2' Classic Balcony Glider combines the upright Classic posture with the elevated counter-height format — a single-seat formal glider at balcony height. For elevated decks where seated sightlines must clear railings, for porches where accessibility matters more than the low-seated Adirondack feel, and for buyers who prefer the upright vertical-slat aesthetic at a higher seat height, the Classic Balcony format delivers the right combination. The 6-inch height boost over standard makes everyday sit-down and stand-up motions easier without sacrificing the formal porch aesthetic.

Upright Footrest Coordination

Upright Balcony Gliders coordinate the integrated footrest with the upright Classic seat posture rather than the reclined Adirondack posture. The footrest sweeps forward and back in sync with each glide cycle, positioned to support legs comfortably at the upright sitting angle where feet would otherwise dangle. The mechanical link between footrest and glide remains as smooth as on the Adirondack version, with the geometry recalibrated for the Classic's straighter seated posture.

Balcony with Coordinating Table

Pair the 2' Classic Balcony Glider with a matching balcony-height end table for elevated drink and book placement at the right height. A standard-height end table looks visually undersized next to a balcony glider; matching the table height to the raised seat creates a coordinated composition rather than mismatched elements. For balcony installations with railing views, position the glider angled toward the view with the end table on the inside arm — the swivel-free Classic format means the chair always faces the optimal direction.

Classic Aesthetic, Modern Durability

Every LuxCraft 2' Classic Balcony Glider is hand-built by Amish craftsmen in Sugarcreek, Ohio. The glider is backed by a lifetime residential warranty and 5-year commercial warranty. The Classic glider aesthetic draws from traditional Amish woodworking forms; the Balcony format and the integrated footrest are modern functional additions to that traditional design language. The combination delivers traditional porch styling with contemporary accessibility features, backed by LuxCraft's generational warranty coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A LuxCraft Balcony Glider sits approximately 6 inches higher than a standard glider, making it easier to sit down and stand up — similar to a counter-height chair. It also includes a built-in footrest that moves in tandem with the gliding motion for added comfort. This makes it ideal for anyone who prefers a higher seated position, has difficulty with lower seating, or wants the added luxury of a footrest. The gliding motion and Classic design are the same as the standard version.

  • Yes — like all LuxCraft poly furniture, the 2' Classic Balcony Glider is built from recycled HDPE that resists moisture, UV rays, insects, and all weather conditions without any maintenance. It will not rot, warp, crack, or fade and can be left outdoors in any climate from Florida humidity to Minnesota winters. No painting, staining, covering, or seasonal storage required.

  • The LuxCraft Balcony Glider has an integrated footrest that is mechanically linked to the gliding mechanism — meaning it moves in sync with the chair as you glide back and forth. This provides a much more comfortable and natural gliding experience than a separate footrest, which would not move with you. The footrest is made from the same durable poly lumber as the chair and requires no separate maintenance.

  • Yes — this is one of the primary reasons customers choose the Balcony Glider. Its counter-height seat (approximately 6 inches higher than a standard glider) makes it significantly easier to sit down and stand up for anyone with limited mobility, knee issues, or back concerns. The integrated footrest also provides additional support. If ease of entry and exit is a priority, the Balcony Glider is the ideal choice over the standard height version.

  • LuxCraft stands apart from most outdoor furniture brands through three key advantages: Amish handcraftsmanship in Ohio (each piece inspected before leaving the facility), 316 stainless steel hardware (the highest-grade rust-resistant fasteners available), and a lifetime residential warranty on all poly furniture. Most competing poly brands use lower-grade hardware and shorter warranties. LuxCraft poly is also made from over 90% post-consumer recycled plastic by weight, diverting millions of plastic containers from landfills annually.
